APC Hails President Tinubu’s 10.9m Primary Victory

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has praised the party’s “transparent and democratic process” following the conclusion of the APC Presidential Primary Election, where President Bola Tinubu emerged victorious with 10,999,162 votes.

Speaking during the collation and declaration of results in Abuja, Yilwatda said the party ensured openness and credibility throughout the nationwide exercise conducted across all 8,809 wards in the country.

According to him, the APC successfully conducted primary elections beginning from the State House of Assembly, National Assembly and governorship levels before climaxing with the presidential primary.

Yilwatda noted that two aspirants contested the presidential ticket, President Tinubu and Mr. Stanley Osifo, adding that accreditation and voting were conducted nationwide, while collation took place at ward, local government and state levels before the final national collation in Abuja.

He stated that the party made the process live on television and online platforms to further demonstrate transparency and deepen internal democracy within the APC.

“The process has shown that APC is open even when challenges arise. Mistakes were identified and corrections were made based on suggestions from representatives of both aspirants,” he said.

The APC chairman commended governors and other officials who served as returning officers during the exercise, describing their efforts as sacrifices made for the party and the nation.

He also praised the Presidential Primary Election Committee led by former Senate President, Pius Anyim, for ensuring a seamless coordination of the exercise.

Following the completion of the national collation, Senator Anyim officially declared President Tinubu winner of the APC Presidential Primary Election.

Results
President Tinubu recorded landslide victories across the 36 states and the FCT, including:

Lagos – 814,988 votes

Adamawa – 644,149 votes

Kaduna – 618,914 votes

Imo – 582,960 votes

Kano – 500,852 votes

Katsina – 467,003 votes

Gombe – 450,517 votes

Mr. Osifo secured a total of 16,503 votes nationwide.
