APC Names Six Reps Candidates in Gombe Primaries

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has announced six candidates who emerged from its House of Representatives primary elections in Gombe State to fly the party’s flag in the forthcoming General election.

The Chairman of the Gombe State House of Representatives and Senate Primary Elections Committee, Mr. Labiru Musa Kafur, announced the results at a press conference in Gombe.

He said; “the primaries were successfully conducted across the six federal constituencies in line with the APC constitution and provisions of the Electoral Act 2026.”

Mr. Kafur said the party adopted the direct primary mode, allowing only verified APC members to participate after accreditation using valid membership cards and the party register.

He said that committee members were deployed to monitor the process across key collation and voting centres, including Kumo, Billiri, Kaltungo, and Gombe, to ensure transparency and credibility.

In the results announced, Usman Bello Kumo emerged as the APC candidate for Akko Federal Constituency after polling all 21,813 votes cast, securing 100 per cent of the mandate.

In Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency, Ali Isa JC won with 23,362 votes, defeating Alfred John who scored 2,822 votes and Saratu Hamman Jauro who polled 224 votes.

For Dukku/Nafada Federal Constituency, Jamilu Ahmed Shabewa secured victory with 28,144 votes, while Umar Ahmed garnered 1,066 votes.

In Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency, Saddam Bello defeated Zakariya Jidda after polling 54,260 votes against his opponent’s 5,902 votes.

Similarly, Fatima Binta Bello was returned unopposed in Kaltungo/Shongom Federal Constituency after securing all 13,824 votes cast.

Also, Inuwa Garba clinched the APC ticket for Yamaltu/Deba Federal Constituency, polling 23,840 votes, representing 100 per cent of the total votes cast.

The committee described the peaceful conduct of the primaries and high turnout of party members as evidence of APC’s strong internal democratic culture in the state.
