Barcelona survived a late fightback from Levante to maintain their perfect start to the La Liga season, moving three points clear of Real Madrid at the top of the table.
The defending champions looked on course for a fifth consecutive league win when Lamine Yamal scored his second goal of the game from the penalty spot three minutes into the second half.
Yamal had opened his account after a cut-back from Raphinha, while fellow teenager Xavi Espart had put Barcelona ahead inside the opening five minutes.
Levante were handed a lifeline with 11 minutes remaining when substitute Ivan Romero capitalised on a defensive error from Espart to pull a goal back.
The goal sparked the hosts into life and, nine minutes later, Roger Brugue bundled home from close range to set up a tense finale at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia.
However, Hansi Flick’s side held their nerve and sealed the points in second-half stoppage time when substitute Karim Adeyemi fired past goalkeeper Matthew Ryan to restore Barcelona’s two-goal advantage.
Barcelona return to action on Wednesday when they face Racing Santander.
