Basketball: Mike Brown To Coach D’Tigers At AfroBasket Tournament

The Coach of the Nigeria’s National Basketball team (D’Tigers), Mike Brown, has confirmed that he will coach Nigeria at the AfroBasket tournament in two weeks.

Before the Olympics, D’Tigers impressed with big wins against the United States and Argentina in exhibition games.  However, they couldn’t re-create those inspiring performances at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as they lost all three Group B games against Australia, Germany and Italy to crash out of the basketball event in Japan.

Although getting a medal at the Olympics might have been too much of a task to be asked of the team, Coach Brown will have to spark the team back to life for the upcoming Afrobasket tournament.

The Afrobasket tournament is scheduled to hold in Rwanda from 24th August to 5th September 2021. D’Tigers will begin its campaign on August 25th against Mali.
