Bayern Munich advanced to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals after claiming a 2-0 victory against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), outclassing their opponents as the Germans progressed 3-0 on aggregate at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.

The hosts featured Cameroon international Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting in attack, with Jamal Musiala and Kingsley Coman supporting on the flanks. For PSG, the french champions started a front-two of Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi as they looked to overturn a 1-0 deficit.

It was a tense first half as both sides defended brilliantly to keep the scoreline 0-0. Both sides threatened, but a goal was far from the encounter in the first half.

PSG looked for a way back into the game, but were met on each occasion by Bayern Munich’s resilient midfield and rock-solid defence. The French champions had no answers against the German machines.

In the 89th minute, substitute Serge Gnabry put the icing on the cake to seal Bayern Munich’s 3-0 aggregate win, following their 1-0 victory in the first leg in Paris.

The German champions remain one of the title favourites going into the last eight of the UEFA Champions League. For PSG, world champion Lionel Messi and star player Kylian Mbappe will wait for next season for a shot at European club football’s biggest crown.

The quarter-final draw for will take place on March 17, 2023.
