Baze University Appoints New Vice-Chancellor, Registrar

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) and Founder of Baze University, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed, PhD, FSAN, has approved the appointment of a new Vice-Chancellor and Registrar following a rigorous and competitive selection process.

Professor Abiodun Adeniyi has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University with effect from 6 May 2026. In the same vein, Ahmad Mahmoud Lawi has been appointed Registrar, also with effect from the same date.

Professor Adeniyi, a distinguished scholar of Communication and Media Epistemology, assumes office after serving as the University’s Registrar. He is succeeded in that role by Alhaji Lawi, who previously served as Director of Human Resources. Both appointees have given over a decade of dedicated service to the institution, distinguished by professionalism, commitment, and loyalty.

The Board of Trustees expressed confidence in their capacity to provide effective leadership, strengthen academic excellence, and further advance the University’s vision of institutional growth and development.

The appointments reflect Baze University’s commitment to merit-based leadership, continuity, and sustained institutional excellence.

The University community has congratulated Professor Adeniyi and Alhaji Lawi and urged staff and stakeholders to extend their full support as they assume their new responsibilities.
