Michael Carrick has remained Manchester United manager after holding crisis talks with club officials, taking charge of training on Tuesday as the team prepares for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Chelsea.
Carrick’s position came under scrutiny following United’s 3–0 home defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday, which extended their winless run to eight matches across all competitions. The club currently sits 16th in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone.

Despite speculation over his future, no decision was announced after Monday’s discussions. A club source said Carrick and his players would be given an opportunity to turn the season around.
The 45-year-old previously helped United recover from a difficult period after replacing Ruben Amorim in January, guiding the team to third place in the league. However, their recent struggles have intensified pressure on him, particularly following his decision to bench captain Bruno Fernandes after the midfielder criticised the team’s tactics.

Former Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann have reportedly emerged as potential replacements should United decide to make a change.
United now face a challenging run of fixtures, including matches against Chelsea, AS Roma, Aston Villa and Liverpool, as Carrick attempts to revive the club’s struggling campaign.
