The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, 2021 Gombe State Ward Congresses Committee, Dr Danjuma Dabo, says the adoption of consensus has led to the successful conduct of the congresses in all the 114 wards in the state.
Speaking with journalists soon after the results from the electoral wards of the State, Dr. Dabo said because the party prescribed consensus and affirmation, it was adopted in the state and it worked well.
“That is why we held it peacefully in Gombe State and the results are coming in now.”
Dr. Dabo said a committee of three was set up to go to the wards to do the local Congresses.
According to him, “it is not an election that is time bound, it is an affirmation because there was consensus.”
Governor, Muhammad Inuwa Yahayaa, was at his Jekadafari Ward, Jekadafari Primary School, where he participated in the Congress and 27 executive members were affirmed.
He praises the successful conduct of congresses, saying it was done in compliance with what the Stakeholders in the State adopted earlier, following the advice and guidelines from the national body of the party.
Governor Yahaya said the APC was open to everyone who wished to join, because the party was being transformed in preparation to the 2023 election.
“In Gombe State, we believe we’re in control and by God’s grace, we shall continue to dominate the political landscape in Gombe State and the country at large,” he stated.
