Court Remands Three Suspects Over Guzape Murder

The FCT High Court in Abuja has arraigned three suspects over the alleged murder of Adimike Godwin in the Guzape area of the Federal Capital Territory, with the court ordering their remand pending trial.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command said the defendants — Adimike Odirachukwu Anthony, Adimike Chinyere Stephany and Comfort Ajibade — were charged with criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide and offences under the Same-Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act.

The court remanded the three defendants at the Suleja Correctional Centre and adjourned the case until September 30, 2026, for further proceedings.

According to police, the case began on May 15, 2026, after a relative reported being unable to reach the deceased. Detectives who responded to the distress call allegedly found Godwin unconscious in his residence with multiple stab wounds.

He was taken to Karu General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

Police said the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, directed a full investigation, which initially led to the arrest of five suspects, including the deceased’s driver and gateman.

Following the investigation, three suspects were charged before the court, while two others were not included in the charges.

“The FCT Police Command remains committed to pursuing justice for victims of crime while respecting the constitutional rights of all persons throughout the judicial process,” the command said.

The defendants have not been convicted, and the case remains before the court.
