Customs Service: New Comptroller assumes duty in Kwara

The new Customs Area Comptroller (CAC), Kahinde Ilesanmi of the Nigeria Customs Service has assumed duty in Kwara State.

He took over from Hussaini Jallo who was in an acting capacity and charged officers in the Kwara State Command to sustain their level of discipline

Ilesanmi urged operatives to keep up their anti-smuggling operations adding that the command under his leadership would continue to act tough against smugglers to get them arrested and seize their illicit goods.

He assured the officers that he would work assiduously towards consolidating the feat attained by his predecessor, disclosing that, with the ongoing border drill exercise, the task to secure the land border effectively remains his utmost priority.

The new Customs Area Comptroller solicited their support and cooperation to effectively manage the affairs of the command and tackle trans-border crimes.

He also sought the support of other agencies and stakeholders

Ilesanmi thanked the Comptroller General of Customs, Hameed Ali and the management team for the appointment, with a pledge to work in line with the service rules.

Kaduna State

In a related development, the Comptroller Nigeria Customs Service Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone B Kaduna State has charged the Officers/Men of the unit to be civil and polite while on patrol duties, reminding them of the need to be patriotic and truthful at all times.

He gave the charge while handing over to the new Commandant, Musa Jalo at the Unit headquarters in Kaduna.

During his valedictory remarks, Hamisu urged the officers and men of the FOU to extend same cooperation he enjoyed while with them to his successor.

Hamisu has been promoted to Acting Assistant Comptroller of Customs, (ACG) and deployed as Commandant, Customs Command and Staff College, Gwagwalada, Abuja.

ACG Hamisu disclosed that during his tenure at the FOU, he received the best attention from officers and men, which helped in the successes recorded.

He reminded all at the ceremony that nothing in life is permanent.

Hamisu advised them to stop comparing leaders because every human has inherent weaknesses and strength.

“What is important is to look at the larger picture of what you want to achieve. Don’t compare me with Jalo and don’t compare Jalo with me. Understand Jalo and help him achieve what he wants to achieve and support him.

Earlier, FOU Zone B, Musa Jalo promised to maintain the legacy of his predecessor.

Comptroller Jalo was the Comptroller FOU Zone ‘ D Bauchi before his posting to FOU Zone ‘B’ Kaduna.
