The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has felicitated the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, on his 61st birthday.
General Musa, on behalf of the Ministry of Defence, the Armed Forces of Nigeria and the wider defence sector, commended the Speaker for his legislative leadership, describing him as an exceptional lawmaker, a visionary statesman and a committed partner in nation-building.
A statement by the Special Assistant to the Minister on Media, Leah Katung-Babatunde, said the Minister acknowledged Abbas’ contribution to legislative productivity, stability and democratic harmony under the 10th House of Representatives.

The statement also highlighted the Speaker’s support for national peace and security, noting his legislative leadership and efforts toward strengthening Nigeria’s security framework and advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda.
General Musa further commended Abbas’ service, humility, intellect and commitment to national development, describing the House of Representatives as a vital pillar in promoting good governance and national stability under his leadership.
As Abbas marks his birthday alongside Nigeria’s Independence Anniversary, the Minister prayed for continued good health, wisdom, long life and strength for the Speaker as he continues to serve the nation.
