Ebonyi State embarks on transformation of capital city

Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria meet up with international standard as it concerns its environment, the state government has set to put additional lanes to the already existing dual carriage way starting from Nkalagu Junction to Onuebonyi junction.

The State Commissioner for Capital City Development, Barrister Onyekachi Nwebonyi made this Known in Abakaliki, the State Capital that the essence of the additional lane is to reduce traffic, accident and to bring up the esthetic nature of the State.

He added that, “All the property owners along Nkalagu to Onuebonyi junction should be ready to give a space of 100 fits away from both sides of the already existing dual carriage way to enable the state government put the additional lanes.”

Nwebonyi warned all the Landlords who have houses on the major streets of the City to renovate it from 14 days today.

“Some old buildings along the major streets must be renovated, we should learn maintenance culture,” he said.

The Commissioner also informed the public that planting of trees in ones environment is now compulsory on accordance with Executive order signed by the Governor of the State.

“We must plant trees, it’s for our good as it maximizes healthy living.

He also called on Ebonyi people to be a law abiding citizens.
