Eid-al-Fitr: President Buhari observes prayer at State House

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday observed the two raqa’at Eid-al-Fitr prayer with his immediate family and some personal aides within the premises of the State House, Abuja.

The prayer and celebrations mark the end of the month-long Ramadan fast usually attended by a large congregation.

Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu had earlier in the week, in a statement said President Buhari’s decision to pray in Aso Rock was in compliance with the Covid-19 non-pharmaceutical measures put in place by the Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) and the Federal Capital Territory administration to save lives and protect people from all dangers.

The President, was also joined in the prayers by Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, his Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, his personal aides among others at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa to observe the Eid prayers at 9:00am.

The First Lady, Aisha Buhari, was also seen praying with her daughters at the Four Court of the Presidential Villa.
