The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, has felicitated with Muslim faithful in the FCT and across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud, commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
In a message to residents, the minister urged them to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings on peace, compassion, sacrifice, patience, tolerance and fellowship.
Mr Wike said the FCT was established on the principles of unity and tolerance and urged residents to uphold those values in their daily interactions.
He also called on residents to embrace dialogue as a means of resolving differences and promoting peaceful coexistence.
According to him, “The FCT was built on the foundation of unity, diversity and tolerance for all Nigerians.”
The minister also urged residents to demonstrate the virtues of sacrifice, patience, tolerance and fellowship in their daily lives.
He assured residents and visitors that the FCT Administration remained committed to maintaining safety and security during the festive period and beyond.
Mr Wike also encouraged residents to support security agencies by providing useful information that could help protect their communities.
He wished Muslim faithful and other residents a peaceful Eid-el-Maulud celebration and prayed for continued progress and prosperity in the FCT and Nigeria.
