The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) Executive Council has approved an N5.7 billion contract for the construction of a 33 kV power supply line from Dawaki to Tukulo and adjoining communities in the Bwari Area Council.
The Coordinator of the FCT Satellite Towns Development Department (STDD), Mr Abdulkadir Zulkiflu, disclosed this on Tuesday after the FCTA Executive Council meeting chaired by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja.
Zulkiflu said the contract was awarded to CGC Nigeria Ltd, with an eight-month completion period.
He said the project was intended to improve electricity supply to communities along the route and support infrastructure development in the satellite towns.
“Satellite towns have been undergoing rapid changes recently under this administration, from water supply infrastructure to road construction and streetlights.
“This power project will complement existing projects on the ground to ensure these communities are properly upgraded,” he said.
Zulkiflu also said the council had ratified two rural infrastructure contracts worth more than N17.1 billion, which were awarded in 2024, completed and inaugurated in 2025.
He explained that the ratification constituted formal administrative approval for projects that had already been executed and delivered.
The projects include the Gaba-Tukulo Road in Bwari Area Council, constructed by Setraco at a cost of N8.2 billion, and the rehabilitation of the Paiko
