First Lady Seeks Greater Support for the Less Privileged

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu has called for more support for the less privileged in the society.
She made the call in a message on Saturday to commemorate the 2026 International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
“The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty 2026, with the theme “Dignity, Opportunity, and Shared Prosperity,” reminds us of our collective responsibility to build a society where every person can live with dignity and hope, access meaningful opportunities, and thrive to realise their full potential,” she said.
The First Lady also adviced that equal opportunities should be given to vulnerable families, to enable them access social amenities that improve their quality of life.
“We must continue expanding access to education, healthcare, skills, decent livelihoods, and economic opportunities, especially for vulnerable families.
“Through compassion, effective interventions, and sustained collaboration, we can create pathways out of poverty and toward shared prosperity,” she stated.
