Former Accountant-General of the Federation and Nigeria’s first female Accountant-General, Dr. Oluwatoyin Shakirat Madein, has advised Nigerian youths to embrace courage, resilience, optimism, and purpose in order to become agents of change and greatness.
Madein, made the call at the Undaunted Conference organised by Blooming Amazon Ministry (BLAM) in Abuja.
According to her, “Greatness is not born in comfort alone; it is often formed in the midst of adversity by men and women who refuse to give up.”
She further urged young people to remain undaunted in all their endeavours and not allow current economic challenges to prevent them from pursuing their dreams.
“When circumstances shout discouragement, it is important to stay lifted, keep your faith alive, and continue working even when the road ahead is uncertain,” she said.

In her welcome address, the Convener and Founder of Blooming Amazon Ministry, Tolulope Tunde-Ajiboye, admonished youths to keep the fire of their dreams burning and recognise that visions and aspirations are often birthed through pain and challenges.
“Today, I do not stand before you as someone who has figured everything out, but as a woman who has experienced loss, disappointment, uncertainty, and grief. Giving up would have been easier than pressing on, yet we are here,” she said.
She added that, “Purpose refuses to die. Purpose waits patiently for clarity, healing, and the right season, then rises again. The Undaunted Conference is a movement of people who have chosen courage over fear, purpose over excuses, resilience over adversity, and impact over comfort.”

The event attracted stakeholders from various sectors of the economy who shared insights on growth, leadership, and advancement.
During a fireside chat, Nollywood actor Stan Nze encouraged youths to remain optimistic despite challenges.
“You need to find positivity in your future one way or another. You need to know that your dreams are valid and that they are possible. You must dream and work consistently so that you can reap the rewards in the future,” he said.
He also noted that integrity, punctuality, and consistency are essential qualities for personal development and future opportunities.
