Galaxy Backbone, NPTF Launch Smart Police Station

Galaxy Backbone Limited (GBB), in partnership with the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF), has deployed a Smart Police Station in Gombe State, marking a major milestone in the adoption of technology-driven policing across the country.

The initiative underscores the growing role of digital innovation in enhancing security operations, improving public service delivery, and strengthening the capacity of law enforcement agencies to respond effectively to emerging challenges.

The deployment ceremony was attended by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Backbone, Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju, and the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, Mr Muhammed Sheidu, alongside other government officials, security stakeholders, and community leaders.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Adeyanju described the project as a practical demonstration of how technology can be leveraged to support national development and improve public safety.

He noted that Galaxy Backbone remains committed to providing secure digital infrastructure, reliable connectivity, and innovative technology solutions that enable government institutions to serve citizens more efficiently.

According to him, the Smart Police Station is equipped with advanced digital tools, surveillance systems, and robust connectivity infrastructure designed to enhance operational effectiveness, facilitate real-time information sharing, and support data-driven decision-making within the Nigeria Police Force.

“The deployment of this Smart Police Station reflects our commitment to building a digitally connected public sector and creating solutions that improve governance and service delivery. Through technology, we are helping security agencies become more responsive, efficient, and citizen-focused,” he said.

Also speaking, NPTF Executive Secretary Mr Muhammed Sheidu emphasised the importance of innovation in addressing contemporary security challenges.

He noted that integrating technology into policing would significantly improve intelligence gathering, crime prevention, and overall operational efficiency.

Sheidu commended the collaboration between the Nigeria Police Trust Fund and Galaxy Backbone, describing it as a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening institutional capacity and improving security outcomes for Nigerians.

The Smart Police Station features modern surveillance capabilities, enhanced communication systems, digital reporting mechanisms, and reliable internet connectivity, creating an environment where officers can perform their duties more effectively while providing better services to members of the public.

The project is expected to serve as a model for future smart policing initiatives across the country, providing a framework for integrating technology into security operations and fostering safer communities.

With the successful deployment in Gombe State, Galaxy Backbone and the Nigeria Police Trust Fund have reaffirmed their commitment to building a more secure Nigeria through innovation, collaboration, and digital transformation.
