Gombe PDP Clears Aspirants for Senate, House of Representatives

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Gombe State has officially cleared all aspirants seeking to contest for the Senate and House of Representatives in the upcoming elections.

A statement signed by the Chairman of the Screening Committee, Mr. Mohammed Dan’azumi Adamu, confirmed that all candidates underwent screening and were approved to represent their constituencies.

“We are directed to forward to the National Organising Secretary the list of screened aspirants from Gombe State for the posts of Senate and House of Representatives,” Mr. Adamu said.

The cleared Senate aspirants are Senator Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo for Gombe North, Senator Anthony Siyako Yaro for Gombe South and Mr. Aliyu Hammadu for Gombe Central.

Senators Dankwambo and Siyako are the incumbent senators representing Gombe North and South.

Similarly, the House of Representatives candidates who were cleared are Gidado Alhaji Lawanti for Akko Federal Constituency, Mr. Mohammed Lamido for Dukku/Nafada and Dr Obed Paul Shehu for Kaltungo/Shongom.

Others are Dr Nasir Ibrahim for Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye, Shu’aibu Galadima for Yamaltu/Deba and Rambi Ayala for Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency.

The party emphasised that the clearance marks a key step toward ensuring a transparent and credible primary election process for Gombe State’s legislative contests.
