Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to grassroots development, commending the Leader of the 8th Assembly, Otobong Bob, for legislative excellence, accountable representation and his stabilising role in the State House of Assembly.
Eno gave the commendation at Bob’s Constituency Briefing and Empowerment Programme in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, where a ₦100 million empowerment package provided vehicles, business equipment, financial grants and educational support to constituents.
“I want to thank Otobong Bob for being a stabilising force in the House of Assembly. This Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has enjoyed more than any other in the history of Akwa Ibom State,” the governor said.
He commended the Speaker and other lawmakers, describing constituency briefings as an important accountability mechanism through which legislators report their activities and demonstrate how they are fulfilling their mandates.

“I am aware that a few of you have held your constituency briefings, and I believe that by December, the others will have done theirs, because this is one of your mandates,” Eno said.
Reaffirming his commitment to inclusive development, the governor announced ₦1 million in support for each ward and expressed confidence in the continued transformation of Nsit Ubium.

“Otobong will go for a third term, and I will go for a second term. We are developing Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, and we will continue to do so. Let us support Otobong Bob, because things will get better, I will support each ward with ₦1 million. We have started campaigning with the projects we have commissioned.”
The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Udeme Otong, described Bob as a stabilising influence whose dedication to constituency service had earned the respect of fellow lawmakers.
In his remarks, Bob said the programme provided an opportunity to account for his stewardship and demonstrate the practical impact of legislative representation.
The ₦100 million package included cars, minibuses, tricycles, motorcycles, generators, vulcanising machines, barbing and hairdressing kits, grinding machines, laptops, lawnmowers, welding machines, deep freezers and sewing machines. Beneficiaries also received business grants and educational assistance.
Imabong Hanson, who received ₦1 million in business support, said the intervention would strengthen her enterprise, while Charles Friday, who received ₦500,000 to establish a business, described the grant as an opportunity to achieve sustainable income and financial independence.
The intervention highlights how effective constituency representation can translate national leadership blueprint commitments into practical investments in livelihoods, enterprise development and education at the sub-regional level under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
