Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced Covid-19 vaccination for 2021 intending pilgrims in the State.

The Acting Overseer of the board, Hajiya Hannatu Zailani flagged off the vaccination jab at Kaduna North Local Government Area of the State.

The vaccination was a directive by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the National Hajj Commission.

Hannatu said the jab was a criterion for every intending pilgrim before leaving for Saudi Arabia.

She explained that all the Local government areas within the State have centres that are administering the vaccine but intending pilgrims in southern Kaduna have only one centre in Kafanchan, Jama’a local council where they will converge for the jab.

She assured that at the pace the vaccine is being administered, all intending pilgrims would be vaccinated within a week.

About 4000 pilgrims are expected to participate in this year’s Hajj.
