By Ladan Nasidi, Kano

The wife of the Jigawa State Governor, Ambassador Dr Hajiya Amina Umar A. Namadi, has called on residents of the state, particularly members of the Fulani community, to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and support the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in future elections.

Speaking during a community engagement meeting in Dundubus Ward, Dutse Local Government Area, the governor’s wife said active participation in the electoral process is crucial for strengthening democracy and ensuring sustainable development.

Addressing a large gathering of men, women and youths, Ambassador Dr Namadi emphasised the importance of voter registration, describing the PVC as a powerful tool for citizens to shape the future of their communities.

“A Permanent Voter Card is not just an identification document; it is a powerful democratic tool that gives every citizen the opportunity to choose leaders and influence the direction of development in their communities,” she stated.

She urged residents who are yet to register to take advantage of voter registration opportunities, stressing that meaningful participation in governance begins with obtaining a voter card.

“Those who do not have voter cards risk being left out of important decisions that affect their lives. Every eligible citizen should ensure they register and obtain their PVC so that their voices can be heard,” she emphasised.

The First Lady noted that voter participation remains critical to promoting accountability, good governance and effective representation.

She also used the occasion to highlight what she described as the achievements of the APC-led administration, citing various developmental projects and social intervention programmes implemented across the state and country.

“The APC government has recorded significant achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare and social welfare.

These initiatives have positively impacted the lives of many citizens and contributed to the development of our communities,” she revealed.

Ambassador Dr Namadi called on residents to remain steadfast in their support for the ruling party, arguing that continued support would help sustain ongoing development efforts.

“We must continue to support the APC so that the progress we are witnessing today can be sustained and expanded. Development thrives where there is continuity and stability,” she said.

She further urged voters to support APC candidates at all levels in future elections.

“I encourage you to support APC candidates from top to bottom. Such support will guarantee continuity in governance and accelerate development across Jigawa State,” she said.

According to her, unity, political participation and collective commitment to good leadership are essential for building a prosperous future.

The event drew a large turnout of residents from across Dundubus Ward and formed part of ongoing grassroots mobilisation efforts aimed at promoting civic engagement and strengthening democratic participation in the state.
