Veteran actress Joke Silva has paid tribute to her late husband, Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, popularly known as Olu Jacobs, who died on September 16, 2026, at the age of 84.
The family of the veteran actor announced his passing in a statement, describing him as “The Lion of Lufodo” and requesting privacy as they mourned his death.
Silva and Jacobs were married for several decades and were widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most respected celebrity couples.

Beyond their marriage, the pair made significant contributions to Nigeria’s entertainment industry through the co-founding of the Lufodo Group, a company dedicated to theatre and film production.
Fourteen days after the actor’s passing, Silva shared a throwback photograph of herself and her late husband on Instagram, accompanied by white-heart and praying-hands emojis.
The tribute came as family members, colleagues and admirers continue to celebrate the life and legacy of the veteran actor.
Jacobs was also honoured at a Night of Tributes held at the Glover Memorial Hall in Lagos.
His funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, October 2, at This Present House, Freedom Way, Lekki Phase I, Lagos.
Widely regarded as one of Nollywood’s most distinguished actors, Jacobs built a career spanning theatre, television and film, earning recognition for his contributions to Nigeria’s performing arts sector.
Since his death, fellow actors, filmmakers, fans and other entertainment figures have continued to pay tribute to his enduring impact on the Nigerian entertainment industry.
