The New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Gubernatorial Transition Committee has issued advisory to all the 44 local government chairmen in the state warning them against the use of LGA funds to finance election.
A statement issued by he Chairman of the committee, Dr. Bappa Bich drew the attention of all the 44 Local Government Council Chairmen and their Managements and advised them to desist from the alleged round tripping of public funds between their councils and the State’s Ministry for Local Governments. Specifically:
“We advise them not to allow themselves to be used, again, as conduits for siphoning public funds to finance the forthcoming supplementary elections in some states and federal constituencies of the State; and
“We further advise them to operate strictly in accordance with all the relevant financial regulations and extant guidelines.
“This advisory is made in the public interest, please,” Dr Bich stated.
