Kenya has not recorded any new cases of Ebola after conducting 293 tests since a positive patient ‌died on October 5, the Ministry of Health said on Sunday.

The country confirmed its first imported case of Ebola on October 6 after a citizen who travelled from the Democratic Republic of Congo died of the virus in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi.

Tests were conducted on 293 samples from 289 alerts and only the confirmed case was positive, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.

In addition, 108 of the 122 ‌listed contacts of patient-zero are in quarantine and have not developed symptoms.
