The Labour Party (LP) Senatorial Candidate for Anambra Central, Tochukwu Ikezue, has congratulated Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, on the state’s impressive performance in the latest Philips Consulting State Performance Index.
He described the achievement as evidence that purposeful leadership, fiscal discipline and people-centred governance can deliver measurable development and improve citizens’ welfare.
Ikezue, who spoke in Awka, said Abia’s improved ranking reflects prudent financial management, infrastructure renewal, transparent governance and sustained efforts to improve the welfare of residents.
He described the achievement as “a beacon of hope for the South-East,” noting that it demonstrates how accountable leadership can transform governance, strengthen transparency and improve public service delivery.
According to him, the recognition also validates the Labour Party’s people-centred approach to governance and shows that meaningful development is possible when leaders remain focused on the needs of the people.
Drawing lessons from Abia’s success, Ikezue said Anambra Central deserves similar progress in road infrastructure, healthcare, education and digital governance, urging leaders to prioritise citizens’ welfare.
He also praised Governor Otti for what he called a national recognition that has projected the image of the South-East positively.
“On behalf of the Tochukwu Ikezue Senatorial Campaign Council and the people of Anambra Central, I commend Governor Otti and his team for this outstanding achievement. We celebrate with the people of Abia and pray for even greater milestones,” he said.
Ikezue further urged South-East states to learn from one another, stressing that regional cooperation and result-driven leadership remain essential for sustainable development and the renaissance of Alaigbo.
