The lawmaker representing Kebbe-Tambuwal federal constituency, Abdulsamad Dasuki, (African Democratic Congress – ADC), has called on northern state governors sharing border with the Niger Republic to meet with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to improve relations with the neighbouring country
Dasuki made the call shortly after he received an Award from the ADC Elders from his constituency, Kebbe and Tambuwal Federal Constituency in Sokoto.
According to him, governors from the north west region should intensify efforts to convince the president towards addressing security challenges in their respective states.

“As a lawmaker, it is necessary for the Governors to prevail on the President to ensure that we improve our relationship with our neighbours, the Niger Republic.
“The current soar state of relations between Nigeria and the Niger Republic is unbecoming and it is not a good omen for security in northern part of the country,” Dasuki said.
Dasuki, who is the Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, pledged to work tirelessly to make his constituency, Sokoto State and Nigeria in general safer and more secure.
He further called for more plausible measures by the government to remedy the obnoxious security situation across the country.
The Lawmaker also urged the recruitment of more forest guards across the country, while arguing that the Governors have the requisite money to adequately fund the proposed State Police.
He commended the former Governor of Sokoto state and the ADC leader in the state, Senator Aminu Wazirin Tambuwal, for his leadership style and commitment to the progress of the state and the party in general.
He appreciated the award from the elders and acknowledged the quality leadership being provided by state party chairman Abdullahi Maigwandu and his colleagues, repressing hope that ADC will win the forthcoming 2027 general elections at all levels.
Dasuki further assured to provide a credible opposition not only in his constituency, but across the state to ensure the success of ADC candidates at all levels.
In his remarks, the State Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Maigwandu, commended member Dasuki for providing quality representation as well as his sustained efforts to empower his constituents at all times.
The party chairman thanked the elders and stakeholders from the constituents for identifying the contributions of the member to the progress and development of the state.
