The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has called on the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) to extend the June 30 Company Income Tax filing deadline following technical disruptions on the Rev360 tax portal.
The Chamber acknowledged that some businesses delayed filing until the last minute but said the widespread downtime experienced on the Rev360 portal on the deadline day significantly disrupted compliance efforts.
According to LCCI, “the platform suffered login failures, validation errors and unsuccessful submissions, leaving thousands of companies unable to complete their tax filings before the deadline.”
To address the situation, the Chamber called on the NRS to extend the filing deadline by one month, waive penalties for companies affected by the outage, and urgently improve the platform’s capacity ahead of future filing periods.
LCCI also urged the tax authority to announce the extension and penalty waiver promptly to prevent uncertainty within the business community.
The appeal was contained in a statement signed by the Director-General of LCCI, Dr. Chinyere Almona.
