The Nasarawa State Government says the ongoing construction of the 2.6-kilometre Mararaba-Nyanya Flyover and adjoining road project will be completed by December 2026.
The Managing Director of the Nasarawa State Urban Development Board, Wada Yahaya, disclosed this during an inspection tour of major infrastructure projects by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors National Media Tour.
Yahaya said the project is designed to ease traffic congestion, improve connectivity between Nasarawa State and the Federal Capital Territory, and boost economic activities in the Mararaba area.
He said the project includes two flyover bridges, an elevated road and five pedestrian bridges.
“The Mararaba project is costing the state government almost ₦40 billion,” Yahaya said, adding that the total cost, including compensation and road furniture, is expected to reach between ₦43 billion and ₦44 billion.
He said the project is expected to reduce travel time between Abuja and Keffi from over two hours to less than 40 minutes.
The inspection team also visited the completed Lafia Flyover, Underpass and Interchange, the ongoing Dalhatu Arab Specialist Hospital in Akwanga, the Total Flyover Bridge and Underpass in Keffi, and the completed Akwanga Interchange and Underpass.
Speaking at the end of the tour, the Director of Media and Publicity of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Tunde Rahman, said the projects demonstrated the impact of increased federal allocations and ongoing economic reforms.
“Seeing is believing; you have all seen for yourself,” Rahman said.
He commended the Nasarawa and Benue state governments for using increased fiscal resources to execute infrastructure projects and improve services for residents.
