Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has extended a message of solidarity to Nigerian workers in commemoration of the 2026 Workers’ Day, describing them as vital to national progress and social stability.

The Minister noted that the Ministry remains aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, lauding its focus on people-centered development and shared prosperity.

Highlighting ongoing initiatives, the minister emphasised the importance of the Renewed Hope Social Impact Intervention (RHSII-774), which she said is expanding opportunities and strengthening community-level impact nationwide.

She underscored the Ministry’s continued focus on workforce development as a key driver of national transformation.

According to Sulaiman-Ibrahim, “Better days are not distant; they are being built,” stressing that staff welfare remains central to achieving the Ministry’s mandate.

She further described the declaration of 2026 as the Year of Families and Social Development as a significant milestone for the sector.

The Minister noted that the initiative would enhance programme delivery, foster stronger partnerships, and boost institutional relevance.

The Minister praised the commitment and service of workers, especially staff of the Ministry and its agency, the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development.

“Like quiet hands that steady the nation and faithful hearts that keep its promise alive, today we honour the dignity of labour and the enduring spirit of service.” she said

Reaffirming her commitment to workers’ welfare, she stated, “Your welfare, growth, and productivity remain a priority,” stressing that concerted efforts would continue to improve working conditions and build capacity across the ministry.

The Minister called on staff to remain dedicated and united in advancing the Ministry’s goals, urging them to translate policies into tangible outcomes for Nigerians.

She concluded by commending their resilience and professionalism, saying, “I thank you for your resilience, your professionalism, and your unwavering dedication. Your work gives life to hope, and together, we will sustain it.”
