MultiChoice Renews Support for Calabar Entertainment Conference, Festival

MultiChoice Nigeria has renewed its partnership with the Calabar Entertainment Conference and Festival (CECF) for the 10th consecutive year, reaffirming its long-standing support for Nigeria’s creative and entertainment industries.

The announcement was made by Hit 95.9 FM, the organisers of the annual event, which is scheduled to hold in Calabar on Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24, 2026. The conference will take place on October 23, while the festival will follow on October 24.

The festival serves as the entertainment arm of the programme, bringing together young people and audiences from different backgrounds for a vibrant celebration of live music, food, drinks, games and shared experiences. It also provides an avenue for attendees to connect, unwind and enjoy Nigeria’s rich entertainment and cultural offerings.

Speaking on the renewed partnership, Executive Producer of the festival, Patrick Ugbe, described MultiChoice’s 10-year support as a major part of the event’s growth and success.

“Ten years of partnership is more than sponsorship; it represents shared belief, consistency and commitment to the growth of Nigeria’s creative industry,” Ugbe said.

MultiChoice has supported the Calabar Entertainment Conference and Festival from the beginning, and having them renew their sponsorship for the 10th year is something we deeply value.

Also commenting on the partnership, Senior Vice President of Communications at MultiChoice Nigeria, Tope Oshunkeye, said the company was pleased to remain associated with the event.

“We are always happy to associate with the Calabar Entertainment Conference and Festival. We see it not only as an opportunity to strengthen our regional brand story and conversations but also as a platform to support the growth of the creative sector across the country,” Oshunkeye said.

She added that the continued partnership reflects MultiChoice Nigeria’s commitment to creating platforms that empower creative talent and contribute to the development of the country’s entertainment ecosystem.
