Nasarawa Assembly lauds Governor Sule for investing in education

Nasarawa State House of Assembly has lauded Governor Abdullahi Sule for investing massively in the education sector considering the importance of education to societal development.

The Chairman, House Committee on Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Daniel Ogazi stated this when he led other members of the committee on an assessment visit to ongoing construction and renovation of classrooms in Doma Local Government and Skye Development Areas of the state.

The chairman said that Governor Sule is doing his best towards improving the standard of education in the state.

He solicited support from all and sundry to enable the governor to succeed in his education thrive.

The House deputy majority leader said that the inspection was aimed at assessing work done by contractors with the view of addressing any challenge is discovered.

The committee chairman also commended the management of the state Universal Basic Education Board ( SUBEB) for being up and doing in improving on the standard of education in the state while urging them to put more effort into ensuring effective supervision of school projects for the overall development of the state.

” We are on an inspection of ongoing construction and renovation of school projects to ensure that contractors adhere strictly to contract specifications.

” What we want is standard and quality jobs, anything short of that we will not accept it in the interest of the education of our children and for the overall development of the education sector.

” We want to use this medium to call on contractors to use standard materials to justify Government’ huge investment in the education sector,” he said.

He gave assurances of the assembly’s continued commitment to support the state government to succeed in implementing its various educational and other policies for development to thrive.

The schools visited include Chinaa Tiv primary school, GJSS Yelwa Ediya, LGEA primary school, Yelwa Ediya, all inthe Doma Local Government Area of the State.

Others are LGEA primary school, Igbabo, LGEA primary school, Iponu, RCM primary school, Agbashi, GJSS Agbashi, LGEA primary school, Agiema all in the Skye Development Area of the state.
