Nasarawa state government earmarks N2billion for construction of schools

The Nasarawa State Government in north central Nigeria says over 2 billion Naira would be spent for the establishment of more primary and junior secondary schools across different communities of the state.

 

Governor Abdullahi Sule stated this at a town hall meeting as part of his campaign rally in Mada Station of Agidi Development Area of Nasarawa Eggon local government area of the state.

 

Addressing the people, Governor Sule said his administration has made plans to rebuild the schools in the community which were destroyed by rainfall.

 

“On the report I got from the delegation that visited the school I’ve a big news for you today we’re in discussion with Universal Basic Education where we are looking forward to the establishment of new schools and additional classrooms in the two school in Mada station and other parts of the state”

 

He further said the additional schools will accommodate the increasing pupils and students in the state primary and junior secondary schools.

 

Governor Sule who said his administration has rehabilitated the primary healthcare in Mada Station also promised to establish a general hospital to meet up with the population of the area.

 

“We’re talking about hospital and I’ve repaired your primary healthcare centre, we’re looking forward expanding the centre to a general hospital because Mada Station is big enough to have the general hospital “

 

Governor Sule said his administration do not embark on projects until there is resources and capacity and government has already sourced funds for the proposed projects in the area and other communities across the state.

 

He said he was in the area to seek for their support in his bid to be re-elected in 2023.

 

Also speaking, the Nasarawa State Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC), John Mamman said APC administration under the stewardship of Governor Abdullahi Sule carried out some projects in the area and one of them is the Arikpa Bridge which help in improving the economic fortune of the area.

 

Responding, various speakers at the town hall meeting appreciated and commended Governor Sule’s administration for impacting on their lives through his projects and asked for more.
