The Niger State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) says political parties remain central to democratic stability and calls for greater internal cohesion and discipline among political actors.
The call was made by the state secretary, Mr Hamidu Khadi Kuta, at a Democracy Day Anniversary Lecture and Award Presentation organised by the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Niger State Chapter. The lecture, themed “Strengthening Democratic Governance in Nigeria: The Role of Political Parties in Building Public Trust”, focused on the role of political parties in strengthening democratic institutions and promoting accountability in governance.

The party also congratulated the member representing Lavun, Edati and Mokwa Federal Constituencies, Mr Joshua Audu Gana.
The delegation also honoured the lawmaker as the Most Outstanding Legislator of the Year.
The party described the recognition as well-deserved and a reflection of his performance and commitment to his constituents.
The PDP reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening democratic values and promoting effective representation in Niger State.
