The Nigerian Government in collaboration with Anambra State are set to host the first national Made-in-Nigeria trade fair in Awka, the state capital, from December 2 to 5, 2026, as part of efforts to promote locally manufactured products and boost domestic production.
The four-day event, tagged “Christmas Market,” will take place at Solution Fun City, Awka, and is expected to attract manufacturers, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), businesses and consumers from across the country.
The Secretary to the Anambra State Government, Chiamaka Nnake, disclosed this when she received officials of the Made-in-Nigeria Project Office under the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation in Awka.
Nnake said the trade fair was consistent with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s efforts to promote locally made products and would provide a platform for showcasing goods produced in Anambra to both domestic and international markets.
She said the December date was selected to coincide with the state’s Christmas festivities and boost commercial activities during the yuletide.

The National Coordinator and Executive Director of the Made-in-Nigeria Project Office, George Nwabueze, said the Federal Government would formally appoint Soludo as a Made-in-Nigeria Brand Ambassador during the fair, in recognition of his support for the promotion of Nigerian-made products.
Nwabueze said the nationwide programme would be held in different states, beginning with Abia State in September and moving to Anambra in December.
He said the Awka trade fair would feature exclusively Nigerian-made products, with imported goods excluded, in line with the Federal Government’s drive to strengthen domestic manufacturing and promote Nigerian products in global markets.

The Anambra State Commissioner for Commerce, Nonso Ebonwu, urged manufacturers and SMEs in the state to use the opportunity to showcase their products, expand their market reach and attract new customers.
The announcement was followed by a tour of Solution Fun City, the designated venue for the four-day event.
The trade fair is expected to provide Nigerian producers with greater market exposure while supporting efforts to expand local manufacturing, increase demand for domestic products and reduce reliance on imports.
