Headquarters Sector 3, Operation HADIN KAI, and the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have donated educational materials to selected schools in Monguno Local Government Area as part of efforts to strengthen civilian-military relations in the North-East.
A statement by the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force North-East, Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, said the intervention was designed to address community needs while strengthening the relationship between troops and residents in the operational area.
The materials were presented on behalf of the Sector Commander, Brigadier General Shehu Ahmed, by the Commander, Sector 3 Garrison, Brigadier General Ikechukwu Ogundele, who described the initiative as part of the military’s broader non-kinetic approach to stabilisation.
Ogundele said security gains would be more sustainable when communities could see a tangible connection between the presence of security forces and improvements in their daily lives.
He said education support was therefore an important part of efforts to build trust, encourage community cooperation and strengthen resilience in areas affected by years of insecurity.
The sector commander reaffirmed the Sector’s commitment to people-oriented initiatives that contribute to peace and stability, stressing that education remained fundamental to sustainable development and community resilience.
Receiving the materials on behalf of the Monguno Local Government Authority, Mr Babagana Modu Kur expressed appreciation for the gesture and assured them that the items would be distributed equitably among the benefiting schools.
The initiative complements the Sector’s ongoing kinetic operations, with the military seeking to create conditions where security operations, community cooperation and social recovery can reinforce one another.
The donation forms part of the Sector’s continuing Civil-Military Cooperation programme across its Area of Responsibility, with education serving as one of the practical tools for strengthening community confidence and supporting the long-term foundations of peace in the North-East.
