The Nigerian Government has expressed sympathy to the Government and people of Nepal following devastating landslides and flash floods along the Nepal-Tibet border.
In a statement issued by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oluwafemi Adeniyi, Nigeria said the disaster resulted in significant loss of lives, widespread destruction and the displacement of affected communities.
The statement also noted that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, conveyed Nigeria’s condolences to the people of Nepal, particularly families who lost loved ones, those awaiting news of missing relatives and communities whose livelihoods and critical infrastructure have been severely affected.
