The Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS has extended Special Passport Intervention Exercise in the United Kingdom to run from 6 to October 30, 2026.
The extension followed the high turnout and sustainable demand by Nigerians for the Passport.
In a statement issued by the National Public Relations Officer of the Service, Akinsola Akinlabi, the Nigeria Immigration Service acted on the directive of the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo who said that the extension exercise should be carried out.
The Service enjoined Nigerian communities in the UK to take advantage of the extension to renew their passports and to also take note of the venues for the intervention exercise namely:
i. London 56-57 Fleet St, Temple, London EC4Y 1JU
ii. Manchester Nigerian House, 23 Platt Ln, Manchester M14 5NE
iii. Aberdeen Hilton Convention Centre 13 Smithfield Road, Aberdeen, AB24 4NR.
iv. Cardiff (To be Announced)
“The venue for the Cardiff Center will be announced separately in a subsequent public notice, and applicants are advised to keep abreast of the update on the Nigeria High Commission’s website and NIS official communication channels. Intending applicants may however proceed to book appointment via the link,” he said.
Consequently, he remarked, applicants are required to book their intervention appointments via the dedicated portal or through the Nigeria High Commission’s website and are to strictly adhere to their scheduled dates and times.

This measure is aimed at ensuring an orderly process, minimising delays, and enabling the service to efficiently attend to all applicants throughout the exercise.
“The Contactless Passport Application System remains fully operational, and eligible applicants are encouraged to utilise the platform to renew their passports without having to visit any Nigerian Embassy, High Commission, or Consulate,” he said.
“Applicants are required to present the following documents at their preferred venue:
i. Completed application form
ii. Payment slips as proof of payment
iii. Intervention Appointment Print Out
iv. Self-addressed return envelope; and
v. For renewal cases, presentation of the applicant’s current passport is mandatory.
Note: Cash payment will not be accepted at the venue. “
He further said that applicants are required to cooperate with officials to ensure a smooth and orderly exercise stating that the Nigeria Immigration Service remains committed to efficient, transparent and responsive passport Service Delivery to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.
