Nigeria Seeks Global Investment in Key Sectors

Nigeria is set to attract fresh international investment into its mining, energy and infrastructure sectors as the maiden Nigeria NOW! Global Investors Expo will be held in Abuja in November.

The two-day investment forum, scheduled for November 19 and 20, 2026, is expected to bring together between 500 and 600 investors, financiers, project developers and government representatives from across the world.

The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr Dele Alake, said the Expo aligns with the Federal Government’s drive to move Nigeria’s mining sector from the export of raw minerals to processing, manufacturing and value addition.

Represented by the Director-General of the Mining Cadastre Office, Engr. Obadiah Simon Nkom, at the launch of the Expo in Abuja, Alake said the transformation of the sector requires patient capital, modern technology and responsible investors.

He said investors must be prepared to comply with Nigerian laws, protect host communities and the environment, and maintain transparent relationships with government.

The Minister also said the participation of the Ministries of Industry, Trade and Investment, Power, Petroleum Resources and Solid Minerals Development demonstrates the broad investment opportunities available across the Nigerian economy.

According to him, state governments will also be provided an opportunity to showcase bankable projects, infrastructure needs and potential investment partnerships to local and international investors.

Speaking on behalf of EnergyNet, Portfolio Manager and Head of Corporate Development, Abdoulaye Sylla, said the Nigeria NOW! Expo would provide a project-focused platform for investors to engage directly with government and project developers.

Sylla said the initiative followed extensive market research indicating that Nigeria was increasingly positioned to attract foreign direct investment, particularly into strategic infrastructure and multilateral programmes such as Mission 300.

He said EnergyNet expects 500 to 600 delegates at the inaugural event and has committed to making the Expo an annual investment platform in Nigeria.

The event will hold at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja.

The Youth Energy Summit Nigeria will also run alongside the main programme, with discussions expected to focus on youth participation in Nigeria’s Energy Transition Plan and the country’s target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2060.
