The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat of Nigeria has dispatched a delegation of more than 50 members to participate in the 2026 Jalsa Salana UK, one of the world’s largest annual Islamic conventions, scheduled to hold from 24 to 26 July at Oakland Farm, Hadeeqatul Mahdi, Surrey, United Kingdom.
Leading the Nigerian delegation is the Amir (National Leader) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat of Nigeria, Barrister Alatoye Folorunso Azeez, who will join tens of thousands of participants from across the globe at the three-day gathering.
The 60th edition of the convention is expected to attract over 50,000 participants from more than 90 countries, providing a platform to promote peace, religious understanding, interfaith dialogue, and global unity.
The conference will feature addresses by parliamentarians, diplomats, religious leaders, and other distinguished personalities, highlighting the importance of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and international cooperation.
A major highlight of the convention will be the keynote addresses by the Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (aba), the Fifth Khalifatul Masih. During the three-day event, he is expected to deliver messages centred on faith, peace, justice and the role of religion in addressing contemporary global challenges.
The convention will be broadcast live worldwide on Muslim Television Ahmadiyya (MTA) International, with the proceedings also carried by more than 20 international and local television stations.
In Nigeria, WAP TV, MiTV and Tambarin TV Hausa will rebroadcast the event to audiences across the country.
Several media organisations, including the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Voice of Nigeria (VON), TVC Communications, Radio France Internationale (RFI) Hausa Service, MiTV and Ben TV London, are providing coverage of the convention.
The Nigerian media team is led by Dr Qasim Akinreti, who also serves as the media lead of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat of Nigeria.
The event will also feature live broadcasts from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat’s national mosque in Ojokoro, Lagos, and its community centre in Idogo, Ogun State, connecting worshippers and audiences with Ahmadiyya centres around the world.
According to a statement by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat of Nigeria, the convention is designed to strengthen participants’ spiritual lives, deepen their understanding of Islamic teachings and encourage peaceful engagement among people of different faiths and cultures.
Participants and members of the public can follow the proceedings through the Jalsa Salana UK mobile application, available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, as well as on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and other digital platforms.
The annual convention remains one of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s flagship international gatherings, bringing together worshippers from diverse nationalities to promote peace, compassion and service to humanity.
