Nigerian Artiste Jaywon Releases New Single, ‘Jungle Boy’

Nigerian artiste Oluwajuwonlo Iledare, popularly known as Jaywon, has released a new single titled Jungle Boy under the Bantu Muntu campaign by Shake It, Africa, an independent African music and entertainment company.

The Afro-pop track centres on resilience, ambition and the struggles of chasing success in the face of adversity.

According to the label, “the record fuses soulful melodies with contemporary Afro-pop production to narrate the journey of striving for a better life.”

The release forms part of the second phase of the Bantu Muntu campaign, a cross-continental music initiative created to connect artistes and sounds from across Africa.

Established by musician Jon Muq and music executive Kevin Wommack, Shake It, Africa seeks to promote African music, visual arts and live entertainment to audiences across Africa, the United States and Europe.

Speaking on the project, the company’s co-founder, Lead A&R and Creative Director, Muq,  said; “the campaign was conceived to highlight the diversity of African music while enabling artistes to retain their unique identities.”

He described Jaywon’s contribution as reflecting experience, melody and a story of resilience from Nigeria.

Jungle Boy is one of the tracks leading to the release of the 10-track Bantu Muntu compilation, slated for 12 February 2027. The project will feature artistes from across the continent, with a focus on regional sounds, collaboration and international exposure.

The campaign is expected to continue with a Shake It, Africa European showcase in Utrecht, the Netherlands, on 27 March 2027.

Shake It, Africa said; “the initiative is part of its wider effort to foster connections between African artistes and audiences in their home countries, the diaspora and international markets.”
