Nigerian First Lady Promotes Healthy Lifestyle Among Mothers

Timothy Choji

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has urged mothers in the country, especially lactating ones, to maintain healthy lifestyles.

She advised in her message to mark this year’s World Breastfeeding Week.

The First Lady also urged mothers to eat nutritious food to enable their breastfeeding infants to live healthy lives.

She said: “As we commemorate World Breastfeeding Week 2026, I join the global community in support of this year’s theme: “Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works.”

“Breastfeeding lays the foundation for a child’s healthy growth and lifelong development, making it a vital investment in families and a nation.

“I encourage mothers, especially lactating mothers, to embrace healthy lifestyles and eat nutritious foods for their well-being and that of their children. Happy World Breastfeeding Week,” she stated.

World Breastfeeding Week is marked on August 3 every year.
