President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the President-elect of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mrs Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, on her election while reaffirming the need to strengthen technology-driven electoral processes.
Mrs Badejo-Okusanya disclosed this to State House correspondents on Tuesday after meeting with the President, saying their discussions centred on the challenges associated with electronic voting and the use of technology in elections.
The President-elect of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) also pledged to work with members and stakeholders to heal divisions within the legal profession and restore unity in the association ahead of her inauguration next month.

Badejo-Okusanya further disclosed that she had been consulting members and key stakeholders ahead of her inauguration, describing engagement and dialogue as central to her plans for the association.
She noted that the consultations are aimed at addressing concerns within the legal profession, rebuilding confidence among members, and ensuring the Nigerian Bar Association remains united in advancing its statutory responsibilities.
“My swearing-in is not until the end of August. In the meantime, I continue to reach out to members, to stakeholders so that we can work together to improve things, to heal the hurt anyone has, and to just continue to ensure that we do things to make sure that the NBA continues to fulfil its role to society,” she said.
She further assured members and the public that her administration would be guided by reconciliation, institutional stability, and inclusive leadership, with a commitment to strengthening the association from within.
“Everything that needs to be done, I can assure members and the public that I will do. We’ll make sure that we unite ourselves. We’ll make sure that we put our house in order,” she added.
Badejo-Okusanya, who recently emerged as the first woman elected President of the Nigerian Bar Association, is expected to be sworn into office at the end of August.
