Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have arrested four suspected Boko Haram terrorists following a night ambush in Yobe State.
11 terrorists also surrendered and nine suspected drug dealers were arrested in separate operations between 15 and 22 September 2026.
The operational update was made in a statement issued by the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, Capt. Mohammed Goni.
Troops of 27 Task Force Brigade, working with the Civilian Joint Task Force, conducted the night ambush east of Azare Village in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State at about 23:00 on 21 September.
The troops made contact with suspected terrorists and engaged them, forcing elements of the group to flee.

During subsequent exploitation of the area, troops arrested four suspected terrorists. Items recovered included four bicycles, groceries, one sheep and expended 7.62mm Special ammunition cases. The suspects and recovered items remain in military custody for further investigation, while exploitation of the area continues.
In a separate operation, troops arrested nine suspected drug dealers during a routine patrol in Buni Yadi, Gujba Local Government Area, on 19 September. The suspects were found with a quantity of suspected illicit drugs and cannabis, two mobile phones and ₦85,900.
The suspects and exhibits were subsequently handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for further investigation and necessary legal action.
The cumulative operational activities between 15 and 22 September also resulted in the surrender of 11 terrorists and the recovery of a vehicle, ammunition and other logistics items.
Capt. Goni said the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, remains committed to sustaining operations against terrorist and criminal networks and restricting their freedom of action across the North East.
