Nigerian troops, working with the Nigerian Police Force and local vigilantes, have rescued seven kidnap victims from a suspected terrorist hideout in Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State.

The rescue operation was conducted on 14 September 2026 by troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE, following credible intelligence on suspected kidnappers operating around Amla-Icho, Ogobia and Anpekchi communities in the area.

Acting on the intelligence, the troops and their security partners conducted a search and rescue operation across the identified locations.

Zubairu also acknowledged the cooperation and support provided by the Nigerian Police Force and local vigilantes during the operation.
