The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced the suspension of the services of Online Integrated Solutions (OIS Services), the operator of Nigeria’s Visa Application Centres in the United States, with effect from 1 July 2026 until further notice.
In a statement issued by the Service Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, the NIS advised prospective travellers and Nigerians in the United States requiring visas to enter Nigeria to submit their applications directly at the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, D.C., or the Consulates General in New York and Atlanta.
The Service clarified that the suspension applies only to visa application submissions at the Nigerian missions in the United States and does not affect the e-Visa system. Applicants can continue to submit applications through the official e-Visa portal.
Akinlabi said adequate measures had been put in place to ensure the seamless submission, processing and issuance of visas. He urged applicants to monitor the official communication channels of the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigerian missions in the United States for updates on visa application procedures.
He added that the Service appreciates the understanding and cooperation of all applicants and remains committed to delivering efficient and effective visa services.
