The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has congratulated Mr Kingsley Rufus Madaki on his appointment as Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu.
The Council described the appointment as a recognition of Madaki’s professionalism, competence and commitment to journalism and public communication.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike, said the appointment was a proud moment for the media community in the Federal Capital Territory, noting that it underscored the growing recognition of journalists as key partners in governance and development communication.
She stated that Madaki’s elevation reflected the rewards of hard work, integrity and dedication to professional excellence.
The Council urged the new Chief Press Secretary to deploy his wealth of experience in advancing the communication objectives of the Area Council and to continue promoting transparency, accountability and effective public engagement in the discharge of his duties.
The NUJ FCT Council also expressed confidence in his ability to excel in the role and contribute meaningfully to the development of AMAC.
While wishing him a successful and impactful tenure, the Council assured him of its continued support and cooperation.
