ORB Entertainment has unveiled its digital music distribution platform aimed at enabling independent African artistes to release music worldwide, manage their careers and retain full control of their income.
Established by Oluwaseun Ridwan Bamiro and based in Lagos, the company offers artistes access to Spotify, Apple Music, Boomplay, TikTok and over 150 other digital music services.
According to Bamiro, the platform was created to tackle challenges confronting independent African musicians, such as restricted access to professional distribution systems, high entry costs and difficulties in coordinating releases across multiple platforms.

Artistes can sign up and start with ORB’s free plan. The platform also provides paid packages with extra tools for those who need wider distribution and career-management support.
“ORB does not take any commission from royalties, ensuring that musicians on all plans keep 100 per cent of earnings from their music.
“Our goal is to give independent African artists access to the infrastructure they need to build sustainable global careers,” Bamiro noted.
“Talented musicians should not need to sign away ownership or depend on a traditional record label before they can distribute their work professionally,” he emphasised.
Through ORB’s release system, artistes can upload recordings, submit metadata, manage cover art and choose their preferred digital stores from a single dashboard. The company reviews submissions within 24 hours, although the final processing and release timeline depends on the requirements of each streaming platform.
The launch comes at a time when African music is earning global listenership and investment. Yet, many independent musicians still struggle to access the technology, industry knowledge and operational support required to turn that attention into sustainable careers.
