The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has appointed its 2026 governorship candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, as Director-General of its 2027 Presidential and Parliamentary Campaign Committee.

The appointment is aimed at strengthening the party’s political structure and mobilising support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid and APC candidates contesting the 2027 National and State Assembly elections.

The Osun APC Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, announced the appointments in a statement confirming the constitution of a 110-member campaign committee and a 58-member Elders’ Council.

Lawal said the development followed the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council by President Tinubu in Abuja on October 14, 2026, and the inauguration of the Osun State Presidential Campaign Council by Governor Ademola Adeleke on October 22.

The Osun State Presidential Campaign Council was a broader, cross-party arrangement formed to support President Tinubu’s re-election bid. Adeleke, who belongs to the Accord Party, described the coalition as a rainbow alliance involving members of the Accord Party, APC and PDP. The arrangement was specifically for the presidential election and did not extend to the National and State Assembly elections. The APC subsequently constituted its own campaign committee to coordinate the party’s activities and mobilisation efforts in the state.

Lawal explained that the committees were constituted to strengthen the party’s mobilisation capacity and coordinate its activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He said experienced party leaders and stakeholders from across the state had been selected to drive the campaign.

Lawal stressed that the party considered it important to strengthen the efforts of the Presidential Campaign Council to secure substantial votes for Tinubu’s re-election.

Under the arrangement, Lawal was appointed Deputy Director-General, while Engineer Benjamin Adereti and Kehinde Olamolu were named Assistant Directors-General I and II, respectively.

Other members of the campaign committee include former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Timothy Owoeye; Prince Adebayo Adeleke; Alhaji Kamorudeen Alao; Prince Dotun Babayemi; and Ayo Omidiran.

The APC’s three senatorial candidates in Osun State, Adenigba Fadahunsi, Akin Ogunbiyi and Kunle Adegoke, representing Osun East, Osun West and Osun Central Senatorial Districts, respectively, were also named members.

Other members of the 110-member committee include Oluwole Oke, Sanya Ominrin, Taiwo Oluga, David Asaolu, Segun Awotunde, Bayo Oyekanmi, Yinka Ajayi, Oladele Adepoju, Tunde Olororo, Amitolu Shittu, Nike Omoworare and Bosun Oyintiloye.

The party also constituted a 58-member Elders’ Council to provide strategic guidance and support for the campaign.

Members of the council include Chief Foluke Etteh, Bola Oyebamiji, Sooko Adeleke Adewoyin, Otunba Iyiola Omisore, Chief Titilayo Laoye-Ponle and former Osun State Deputy Governor, Gboyega Alabi.

Others are Engineer Benjamin Adereti, former Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole; Ambassador Femi Fani-Kayode; General Alani Akinrinade; Senator Sola Adeyeye; Senator Babajide Omoworare; and Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi.

Lawal said the party would work closely with members of the existing Osun State Presidential Campaign Council to achieve its electoral objectives.

He reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to securing victory for President Tinubu and all its candidates in the National and State Assembly elections.
