Osun Poll: Salaam Raises Concern Over ADC Agents

By Ismail Azeez

The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dr Najeem Salaam, has raised concerns over the alleged non-recognition of the party’s agents at some polling units during Saturday’s Osun governorship election.

Salaam spoke after casting his vote at Ward 4, Unit 13, Ejigbo, in Ejigbo Local Government Area.

He said ADC agents in Ward 5, Ejigbo, were not issued tags despite the party submitting their names to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to him, similar incidents were reported in about 10 local government areas across the state.

Salaam described the development as “worrisome and disturbing” and said the matter had been reported to relevant authorities for investigation.

He called for a peaceful and transparent election, saying party agents must be allowed to monitor the counting process.

Salaam also expressed confidence in winning the election if the process remained free, fair and credible.
